God's Love

God's Love

Like a ray of sunlight
meandering through a thicket to the tiniest leaflet
God's Love always finds a way each day
Inflaming brightest: our heart's wicket

Love unfathomable
Shed abroad our hearts
Love undeniable
Exudes from us right from the start

That Love, which we knoweth of,
Manifested through Christ's demise
That Love, which we speaketh of,
Sets us free from all evil desires.

We know Him and Love Him
Because He first Loved us
We speak of Him as Elohim
That supernatural power that begot us

Show off thus this undeniable Love
The Harvest is plentiful; Labourers are few
Send us great help from up above:
Our Love refreshed and hope anew! !

A Walk with God

Suddenly I fell in a trance
Catching a glimpse of Heaven's Gate at a glance
On jasper-carnelian streets we walked
Holding my hand as we gladly talked
I strolled along as He showed me around
His greatness and power and glory surround!

At times I'm weak, so weak and weary
And things seem to go horribly wrong
Don't worry, My son; be happy, make merry
For when you're weak, then I am strong!

At times I sin
Right under your chin
And guilt like a burden
Weighs me down and hurts my chest
Come, all ye who are weak and heavy-laden
And I will give thee rest!

In thy sanctuary is the fullness of joy
Peace to be savoured, grace to enjoy!
The depth of your love is so much to bear
Teach me to love, to care and to share!

His holy hands signaled it all had to end
Words of admonishment as we strolled, approaching the bend:
Be hot or cold; never sublime
I'll be with you, even till the end of time!

Change

Slowly the Sun bids farewell
Closes its eyes and zips its lips
Not to shine again as the day suddenly drifts
Only for the Moon to say, 'It's okay, you've done well'.

As a caterpillar nibbles and wriggles
On leaves: a villain, but quite feeble
A villain, so cunning and sly
Suddenly turns a magnificent butterfly

Sparkling rubies fetched on the Moon are mere stones on Earth
Alive, one minute; the next, encompassed by the climate of Death
Melodious today; guttural tomorrow
All makes the minstrel's song one filled with sorrow

The Addition Rhyme

One plus One is Two
Two together make a perfect tool
Two plus Two is Four
Four dainty fairies knocking at my door
Three plus Three is Six
Six Christmas elves kept in a fix!
Four plus Four is Eight
Eight marching soldiers in a line so straight
Five plus Five is Ten
Add up your fingers and they add up to ten!

Genuine Love

Genuine Love

Is it that which transpires between the Sun and Moon?
Perfect change-overs depicting seasons to come soon
Or is it a mother's love?
Or that of an angel sent from above?

Is it that which makes a tomato seedling grow?
Water, nutrients and protection from snow?
Or is it what we experience at first sight?
The big arms of infatuation clutching us with all its might.

It is that kind of love which finds a way
Its portal of hope always comes to stay
It is that which binds us together
Rain or Shine; in any kind of weather

Listen to your heart, listen to your heart!
It is sounding its drumbeats; that's a fact!
Tell me, what does it whisper?
My love for you was genuine, even if you don't remember.

Poemhunter-A Coven of poetry

An anthology of poets
Seared with a common vision
Not a quartet, trio nor duet
Myriads of writers ignited on a common mission

With their pens as violin strings
They play the songs of words-a masterpiece
And oh! what lovely warmth it brings!
Like a flaming candle on a mantle piece

Word of valour, words of delight!
A world so free, free from detention
They write of love, hope and might
Mirrors of words depicts their reflection

To some of us, it's a whole new world
To some of us, a complex shade of hue
To some of us, it's a joy never felt
But to me, it's a dream come true

You Never Returned My Love

Love, they say is a good thing
Carved in the heart-what a strange thing
When it encircles the soul
Then it's bound to make you whole

My heart brewed her happiness
The sweetest wine one could ever taste
Her stinging words sapped my gladness
Draining me in unexpected haste

Remember how I cared about you?
December was the month I first met you
I formatted your gloomy past
And restored you at last
With the sizzling warmth of companionship
Which fused the separate cords of our friendship

My love for you was that of silence
Close your eyes and I was there all the time
Whispering to the gathering clouds of violence
'I'm here for her, to put my life on the line'

What did I do? Where did I go wrong?
Was I not God sent, sent from above?
Now I hear you say, 'I'm sorry, Be strong'.
Yet you never returned my love

Now I'm all alone, alone in the biting cold
I thought my heart was safe in your bosom
My heart of love to you I sold
Yet you left it lying faraway in Bochum
